1959 AUSTIN HEALEY FROGEYE SPRITE. CHERRY RED, WIRE WHEELS, 1275cc, DISCS. BEAUTIFUL! £16,995.
This wonderful little Austin Healey Frogeye Sprite was first registered on the 20th of October 1959 and is very nearly 60 years old. It is road tax and MOT exempt. The frogeye sprites are well known for their superb road holding and this car adds to the excitement with the more powerful 1275 cc engine and disc brakes fitted. On my test drive it certainly propelled itself down the road at some speed and stopped with equal efficiency. The Cherry Red paintwork is superb and the interior is just amazing. It has had a full restoration and is in excellent condition. The engine bay is very clean and the boot behind the seats which contains the pack away hood and tools is in great shape. The Fawn convertible top is like new and there is a nice red tonneau cover. The car has a set of 60's style 3 point seat belts fitted for safety. The car sits on a good set of silver painted wire wheels and the overall appearance of the whole car is wonderful. The speedo is showing only 69,000 miles which could be correct but can't be warranted. The old MOT history shows the car at 66,000 in 2006 so only 3000 miles in the last 13 years. The last owner purchased the car from a well known MG specialist 6 years ago and it has been used for fun runs and classic car shows. During his ownership the car has been regularly serviced and has received new hoses, new radiator, a carb rebuild, electronic ignition, clutch slave and front shock absorber. The car comes with a new owners handbook and a workshop manual.
