This fantastic Austin Allegro 3 has a great history. It was first registered 21/05/1980 when it was delivered by G T Staddon of Budleigh Salterton to a Mr Smith who lived in nearby Exmouth. He kept it for a year, the car then passing to a Miss Enid Bucknole who was to retain ownership for 31 years until 2012. It visited Staddons no fewer than 26 times for service up until 2006 according to its Passport to Service, with four more services taking place after that, the last in 2010. In 2012 and now in her 90's Miss Bucknole retired from driving and the car was sold to a gentleman with a huge private collection of classic cars. The whole collection was sold in 2014 to the Jaguar Land Rover company for inclusion in their collection and this car was recently sold off by them. Whilst in the hands of Miss. Bucknole it was meticulously maintained at the Rover main dealers and was serviced and MOT'd every year irrespective of the mileage covered. All this can be proved via the history file and service book. In the last 10,000 miles the car has had a new exhaust system, clutch master cylinder, brake pads and in the last 3000 miles a new battery, starter motor, wheel cylinders, brake shoes and a suspension re-gas. Being the more luxury HL model it came standard with the vinyl roof, twin headlights, twin door mirrors, rev. counter, clock, 4 inertia seat belts, locking fuel cap, 2 speed heater fan, etc. The fetching Snapdragon yellow paintwork is in very good order and the body remains in excellent corrosion free condition. The underside is in amazing condition for a 38 year old car. The very dark blue vinyl roof is in great condition. The Black velour seats, carpets, headlining and trim are all in excellent condition. The ashtrays are unused! There is a quality Gerhard stereo radio cassette player and speakers fitted. It even has the original Staddons window sticker and tax disc holder. The wheels still have the original wheel trim covers and are shod in almost new Michelin tyres. The boot area is very clean and houses the spare wheel and the original tool kit. The A+ 1275cc engine has just been serviced with all new filters, plugs etc and is in fine fettle and along with its 4 speed gearbox is ready to go. There is a large history file and the original bookpack with service book. Also the original brochure. 2 sets of keys. Being a 1980 car it is only 2 years before it will be road tax and MOT exempt. The car will come with a fresh 1 year MOT.
