1965 SUNBEAM ALPINE SERIES 4 1600CC. CARNIVAL RED. OVERDRIVE. RESTORED. TAX AND MOT EXEMPT. £14995
The chassis number on this car shows that it is an original Series 4 RHD car that was exported to New Zealand in 1965. The car was imported back to the UK in 1997 and went to its new owner in Kent. Over the next 15 years the invoices in the large history file show that the car had an engine rebuild with fully balanced parts, a seat rebuild with new covers, new rubber seals, new calipers, clutch, brake pads, brake pipes, brake master cylinder, brake servo, dynamo, new tyres, mudflaps, new dashboard, new chrome fittings, new seat belts, blower fan, electronic ignition, coil, battery, hoses, distributor and much more with invoices exceeding £4500. The car also had a full bare metal body restoration and repaint in the original colour of Carnival Red at an estimated cost of £10,000 and a full photo history of the rebuild comes with the car. In 2012 the car went to a new owner in Hampshire who spent a further £4500 on upgrades including twin 40 Weber carbs for added performance and a glorious sound. In 2015 the car was sold to a new owner in Brighton who continued the cars upkeep and improvements with twin electric cooling fans and regular servicing spending a further £1500. Sadly this owner passed away which is why the car is now available for the next lucky owner. Over £20,000 has been spent getting this car as good as it is and to the standard it is today. Only 3000 miles have been covered since the rebuild and it is ready to entertain. It sit on a set of original steel wheels with chrome trims and caps, has a wood rimmed steering wheel, a wooden dashboard, hazard warning lights fitted, full soft top hood, hood tonneau and an excellent black interior. The car has had a recent service and is Tax and MOT exempt so ready to go.
