1961 AUSTIN A40 FARINA MK1. RED WITH BLACK ROOF. TAX AND MOT EXEMPT. DRIVES GREAT. £7495
This very tidy MK1 Farina was
restored and owned by the former technical advisor of the A40 owners
club. The restoration process
was carried out around eight years ago. The A40 could be purchased driven and
shown straight away by its new owner. The little Austin really draws
attention around town. Externally the car looks great in red over black
and the car has a nice Patina about it. The car is also good on
the underside and waxoyled for protection. Under the engine bay the car has benefited from an engine rebuild
with unleaded head and electronic ignition as well as the cars engine bay been detailed which
is still very clean and tidy. Mechanically the cars 948cc engine
pulls and runs well and the cars transmission is smooth with no rattles or
whines and overall the car provides a good drive. The braking system
works as it should. The cars interior is very tidy and has obviously
been retrimmed during the restoration period with the seats recovered
in black vinyl with red piping setting the cars colour scheme off
nicely. There are red carpets in very good order. The car is serviced and ready to go. The mileage is showing at 77,000 although this can't be warranted. There is a history file with old receipts, MOT's etc and it seems the car has only covered 3,000 miles in the last 11 years. Just enough to keep it healthy.
