1971 MG MIDGET MK3. 1275CC. BRITISH RACING GREEN. WIRE WHEELS. TAX AND MOT EXEMPT. £6995
Fantastic little MG Midget in British Racing Green with knock on wire wheels. This is the much sort after and desirable chrome bumpered GAN5 version of the Midget and has the 1275cc engine. The car was first registered in May 1971 and as it is over 40 years old is now MOT and road tax exempt. Although it does not now need an MOT it has one in place till Feb 2019 and has no advisories. The BRG paintwork is in excellent order as is the soft top and comes complete with a hood tonneau and a full tonneau. There is also a car cover included for keeping the dust off in the garage. There is not a huge history file with the car but it has been restored in the past to a good level and remains in fine order throughout. The underside is very good with no work needed. The previous owner tells us that the car had been dry stored for 2 years before his purchase and that he re-commissioned the car for road use with all work completed regardless of cost. It has had 5 new tyres, new stainless exhaust system, new brake shoes/pads/copper pipes/cylinders/hoses/adjusters, bump stops, track rod ends, electronic distributor, leads, plugs, recent service with new filters, oil etc. ally rocker cover, K&N filters, starter motor, alternator, battery, elec. fuel pump, horns, and a carb overhaul/tune. It has also had a new soft top frame, stainless tread plates, a motolita wooden steering wheel and a fresh under seal and wax oil treatment. The car has also been fitted with an excellent sound system with a CD player with DAB and USB along with two 6 x 9 JVC speakers and a double power outlet for phones and sat navs etc. The car has had a knock on/off wire wheel conversion fitted and these look period correct and so right on the car. The 1275cc A series engine fires in to life easily and has very good oil pressure. Combined with the 4 speed manual gearbox it gets down the road very well. A cracking little car that is ready to go and well worth viewing. Just fitted a pair of new rear leaf springs.
