1975 MGB ROADSTER IN RARE ACONITE PURPLE. O/DRIVE BOX.
CHROME BUMPERS. TAX AND MOT EXEMPT. GREAT CAR. £8495.
This great MGB Roadster is a GHN5 model and was first registered 1-4-1975. It comes with a heritage certificate that shows the car was built in Feb 75 and despatched to the dealer Carlaw Cars in Glasgow and that the car is an original RHD UK spec model ordered in Aconite Purple with Autumn Leaf trim and with overdrive and headrests. Carlaws supplied the car to its first owner soon after and she kept the car for 38 years. The large history file shows that the car was taken to France in 1985 when the owner went there to work and that's where it stayed till 2013 when it was sold to another ex pat living in France. He returned to live in the UK in 2016 and bought the car back with him. The file contains copious amounts of invoices for servicing and parts both in France and the UK. In 1987 the car was despatched to a garage in Bristol with approx 65,000 miles on the clock for a complete overhaul, respray and it had the engine, gearbox, diff and carbs rebuilt. The bill was £3800 which was a huge amount for the work in 1987. The file shows another £8000 spent on the upkeep of the car over the next 20 years but only a further 7000 miles. After returning to the UK 3 years ago the new owner decided to freshen the car up and improve the spec. The car was given a very good chrome bumper conversion, poly bushed suspension, 3/4" anti roll bar, halogen lamps, lowered springs, new grille, telescopic front and rear suspension conversion kit, new carpets and full respray in the original Aconite colour. The black interior and dash are in excellent condition. For security there is a battery isolator switch fitted. The car sits on chrome Rostyle wheels. There is an MOT with no advisories till April 2019 and the car drives extremely well. So 43 years old - 10 in UK - 30 in France - 3 in UK and only 73000 miles.
