1979 MGB 'ORCHARD SPECIAL' ROADSTER. BLACK. OWNED 20 YEARS. 1868cc + HI LIFT CAM. £8995
This fantastic looking car is an 1979 MGB Roadster fitted with a RPS bumper conversion kit. The car is factory Black and was first registered 4th April 1979. It was then a rubber bumper model but has been converted by us with a RPS front and rear body kit painted to match the rest of the car. The suspension has been lowered and Gold Minilite style wheels fitted to give the stunning look it now has. Being 40 years old the car is will be MOT and tax exempt in April 2020 so will come with a fresh MOT when sold. The last owner but one had the car for over 20 years and the large history file with 33 old MOT's back to 1983 shows that he spent over £12,000 restoring the car and upgrading it. The main item is the reconditioned 1868cc unleaded engine fitted with a high lift cam for that extra performance. Mated to the 4 speed + overdrive gearbox it gives good oil pressure and ample performance. Mechanically there was also an Alloy rocker cover, re-con carbs, stainless exhaust, kenlow electric fan, rebuilt suspension, new steering rack, shock absorbers, new distributor and electrics, new battery, new brake calipers, new leaf springs, bushes and seals. Bodily the car has been restored and repainted and the interior re-fitted with black leather seats with red piping, MG logo carpets, Mota-lita steering wheel, period radio cassette player, electric aerial, new mohair roof, full tonneau cover, hood tonneau and chrome sill plates. The Black paint with the stainless grill and bonnet badge shine beautifully and the whole look of the car is superb and a little like the MGB RV8 model.
