1968 MGB GT. MINERAL BLUE WITH BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR, OVERDRIVE & WIRE WHEELS. £10995
This is a 1968 MGB GT GHD4 car finished in Mineral Blue that was first registered 9th August 1968. It has wire wheels, a black leather with white piping interior, overdrive gearbox and a Moto Lita steering wheel. A very desirable specification. There is a good history file that shows us that by the late 90's the car was now over 30 years old and showing its age. The then new owner Bob Burgess decided to have a full re-build and entrusted the job to classic car specialist Classic Encounter in Surrey. It was decided to re-shell the car, fit 4 new wings and any other panel work needed before a full bare metal painting in Mineral Blue. A new engine with unleaded heads was purchased from the MG owners club and fitted along with a reconditioned gearbox with overdrive and a new clutch. It also received electronic ignition, stainless steel exhaust, brake servo, brake pipes, wiring loom and a new leather interior. Over £10,000 was spent and that was then! The process recorded in a series of photographs in the file. Since that time (23 years) the car has covered only 8,000 miles in which time it has also had a 12v battery conversion, front shock absorbers, a Kenlow electronic fan, starter motor, trunnions, air horns, oil cooler and a clifford alarm (untested) fitted. The car has good oil pressure, new tyres, looks fantastic and drives very well.
