1955 MG MAGNETTE ZA. FACTORY BLACK. 98,000 MILES. DRIVES VERY WELL. ONLY £9,995.
This lovely MG Magnette ZA was first registered 16 June 1955 so is now over 64 years old. It is road tax and mot exempt and is ready to use and enjoy. The car was restored and owned some 40 years ago by a Mr. Monkman who was the spares secretary of the MG owners club. He used it for concours competition and the car won a lot of trophies at that time. There are old clippings and photos from that period in the history file. The car has subsequently been owned by MG enthusiasts and the last owner has had the car for 5 years. He has had the car mechanically well sorted with an unleaded cylinder head, accuspark distributor with electronic ignition, new starter motor, new master and slave cylinders, a carb rebuild, new radiator and steering column and other items. The car runs a high lift camshaft and after tuning on a rolling road by the renowned MG specialist Airey Tuning the owner stated that the car now performs really well. The exterior of the car is in original factory black and has a nice shine although there are some minor paint issues that the new owner can address or just live with. The interior has mellowed really well with a lovely patina to the wine coloured leather seats, red door cards and carpets. It has an excellent finish to the wood dash and a pair of inertia seatbelts have been fitted for safety. With Magnette prices now pushing the high teens for concours car this one represents excellent value for money for such a good driving car.
