This lovely Morris Minor 1000 Traveller was first registered 01/01/1964. In 2005 it was purchased by an engineer who set out on a restoration of the car. He had the car restored by Minor specialist Charles Ware and there are pictures of the work in the history file. All the wood frame was replaced at this time and the car was finished with Rose Taupe paintwork. The engine was rebuilt with new bearings, timing chain, etc. and was given an alternator and electronic ignition. The suspension was rebuilt use all new bushes and has modern shock absorbers fitted for better handling and comfort. The inside was re-trimmed in red with new seats, door cards etc. There is also a larger heater fitted. Sound deadening was added to the inside of the doors, on the bulkhead and under the bonnet to give less noise. For protection it was wax oil treated and undersealed. The boot area has a nice under floor storage box fitted and there are rear fog and reverse lights. When the car was finished the owner who worked as an engineer used the car to travel extensively in Europe and especially in Germany where he was living for a few years. The history file has plenty of invoices from German garages showing the car was well cared for during that time. In recent times the car has had a new stainless steel exhaust system, new tyres, a brake refurb and lots more. It has just had a service and a fresh MOT with no advisories that runs till July 2019. The car looks great and goes very well. A very nice Traveller in great condition at a sensible price.
