1970 ROVER P5b COUPE 3.5 LITRE V8 AUTOMATIC. OWNED FOR 44 YEARS AND UN-RESTORED. FANTASTIC SURVIVOR. £13,995.
TTR 828H was first registered 2nd January 1970 and is now 50 years old. It is both MOT and road tax exempt and correctly registered as a historic vehicle. The car is finished in the great colour combination of Burnt Grey (roof) over Silver Birch (body) and has a tan leather interior. This fantastic survivor car has never been restored and consifering that fact remains in great condition. The car has had only 2 owners from new and only one for the last 44 years. That gentleman purchased the car in 1976 for the grand sum of £1000 and the invoice is in the large history file. He was an engineer and toolmaker by trade and maintained the car regardless of cost for all those years. It was used as the family car and was used for many holidays all over England and Scotland. The car also towed a caravan and although the tow bar has now been removed it does come with the car. It has been fitted with a stainless steel exhaust system and a Kenlow electric cooling fan. It has recently had new rear wheel cylinders and a new battery. The car retains the original Radiomobile radio unit. The history box is full of old invoices for work done over the years and there is a factory workshop manual, parts books, owners manuals and handbooks. The exterior of the car is very solid and the paint is nearly all original but does have some touch ups here and there. The interior is mainly very good but the drivers seat needs a bit of TLC. Mechanically all seems to be in excellent order with the 3.5 litre V8 engine showing good oil pressure and plenty of pulling power. The 3 speed automatic gearbox is excellent and changes correctly and smoothly. In conclusion a great survivor car that I would leave as is but could be improved by the new owner if desired.
