I bought this fantastic little Mini last year for stock but I liked it so much I took it home and I have been using it this year to go to various classic car shows where it always gets surrounded by people that just love it. Something else has taken its place at home so it now has to go. The car was first registered 09/10/1972 and is now 46 years so Tax and MOT exempt however I will put a new MOT on the car for the new owner. In 2009 the car was purchased by a chap in Hereford who set about on a full restoration. It was a very comprehensive rebuild with the car being stripped of every nut and bolt and completely rebuilt using new, refurbished or replaced parts. There is a photographic record. The engine is a rebuilt 850 fitted with an unleaded head. It has a 3 branch exhaust, water cooled inlet manifold, larger SU carb and a custom air filter which all make the little engine buzz along nicely with its smooth 4 speed gearbox and new clutch whilst retaining good MPG and very low insurance. The engine bay is very neat and tidy and has some extra bling with the alloy rocker cover and chrome covers on the brake master, fuse box and relays. The body was treated to new wings, A panels, front panel, sills (inner and outer), arch panels, floors and boot floor. This was all finished off inside and out with Seat Amarillo Ouni Yellow 2 pack paint with a Black roof and chrome arches. The inside was re-trimmed at huge expense and features Black seats with yellow piping and the mini logo in the seat backs. There is new carpets, over carpets, headlining, door cards, alloy door furniture, Period correct Smiths rev counter, Styla steering wheel, Yellow Union Jack pedal rubbers, centre 3 dial dash, new headlining, uprated 2 speed heater, larger door pockets that incorporate speakers and extra interior lights, large speakers and high level brake light on the rear parcel shelf, new inertia reel seat belts in both front and back and Sundym tinted glass all round. There is a quality CD/Radio with MP3 etc and a roof mounted aerial with 4 extra power supplies for all your gadgets. It also features Cooper mud flaps, side repeaters, Minator (minilite style) 10" wheels shod with Falken 145/80r/10 tyres and twin fuel tanks fitted with twin chrome flip top fillers. The boot has also been retrimmed and houses the spare wheel, tools and a Krooklok device. The rest of the chrome on the car is in excellent order on the bumpers, window surrounds, Tex door mirrors, exhaust trim, wiper arms, door handles with scratch guards, boot handle, headlight rims and boot hinges. Mechanically it also had a new rear subframe with hi-lo suspension fitted, new brakes, grooved discs, braided hoses, new brake pipes, brake servo fitted, new Gabriel shock absorbers, ball joints, wheel bearings and new fuel lines. Finished of with a thorough waxoil for future protection. The car looks fantastic and goes very well. It has some old invoices and MOT's that show the car has done about 5000 since the restoration. All in all a great car that has had a £10k+ restoration and can be yours to use now with nothing to do except enjoy!
